What it covers
This comprehensive training programme is a practical, industry-informed course designed to take production professionals — including Producers, Line Producers, Production Managers and Production Coordinators — through the entire post-production journey, from pre-production planning to final delivery.
The course aims to address gaps in knowledge and understanding between production and post-production, fostering more effective and collaborative working relationships between them.
It also directly responds to the skills shortage in post-production knowledge among production roles, particularly the need for greater understanding of how early-stage decisions affect downstream post workflows.
Delivered by NFTS Scotland and Post Super, working together in partnership with Blazing Griffin, the course is taught by leading industry professionals. We will walk through best practices for HETV, filling in gaps of knowledge for picture, sound and VFX, as well as budgeting, scheduling and how to meet your delivery requirements. Alongside this we will cover communication, leadership, negotiation and relationship management, in the specific context of the post- production process. The course combines live online sessions, an in-person day at a post-production facility, and flexible self-paced e-learning modules to support diverse learning styles and reinforce key knowledge.
By the end of the course, participants will be fluent in post-production terminology, understand the function and responsibilities of key post roles, and feel confident navigating technical workflows. Drawing on the combined experience and expertise of NFTS Scotland and Post Super, this course equips participants with the tools, knowledge and confidence to work effectively with post-production.
