High-end TV Northern Ireland Mid-Career Bursaries

The ScreenSkills HETV Skills Fund is offering the chance for mid-career professionals based in Northern Ireland to apply for a bursary of up to £2,000 to help their career development.
This programme is funded by the ScreenSkills High-end Television Skills Fund made up of contributions from high-end television productions made in the UK.
Who it's for
These bursaries are specifically designed to support the development of mid-career high-end TV (HETV) professionals based in Northern Ireland.
We welcome applications from professionals working in any HETV department. Applicants must have at least three HETV credits to be considered, new entrants are not eligible for these bursaries.
These bursaries are only open to individuals living and/or working in Northern Ireland.
Please note there is a limited amount of funding for these bursaries and your eligibility will be considered after submitting your CV. An initial submission does not guarantee funding.
What it covers
These bursaries can be used to help with:
- Travel and accommodation costs for individuals travelling outside their local area to work on HETV productions
- travel and accommodation costs for attending training
- training (we recommend you choose a course that is at least four weeks ahead of your bursary application)
- mentoring
- bespoke work shadowing placements
- salary (cover when training/shadowing)
- equipment and kit
- software licensing
Note: Accommodation costs are capped at (up to £140 a night in London, up to £100 a night outside London). Travel (e.g. flights, train fares or mileage @ 45p per mile)
If requesting funding for training we recommend you choose a course that is at least four weeks ahead of your bursary application.
What we won't fund:
- we don’t fund retrospectively so you can’t claim for activity already undertaken
- we don’t fund academic courses
- ScreenSkills cannot offer bursaries on courses it already funds
- ScreenSkills cannot offer bursaries to those who have already received a bursary within the past 12 months
All requested funds must be inclusive of VAT.

Priority will be given to applications that demonstrate clear financial need and applications for help with travel and accommodation costs for working on HETV productions.
