HETV costume supervisor training (Scotland)
This costume supervisor course is a comprehensive, inclusive and hands on training programme aimed at experienced costume standbys looking to progress into supervisor roles in high-end TV.
Held over three full days in Glasgow, the course covers costume script breakdown using industry software: SYNC ON SET and SCENEMATCH, department set-up including crewing up. Budgeting-purchases, hires, makes and labour in conjunction with an ever-changing production schedule. Participants will also learn how to track continuity in relation to multiples, workroom and outsourced makes, monitoring hires against budget and schedule and overseeing the logistics of prep, shoot, and de-rig. We will also cover Health and Safety and well being of the team.
This training is open exclusively to those based in Scotland.
This programme is funded by the ScreenSkills High-end Television Fund made up of contributions from high-end TV productions made in the UK.
Who it's for
Strong candidates for this course will have 5 years'+ experience as a costume standby or equivalent/work room/theatre supervisor.
Please note that this training is open only to individuals based in Scotland and proof of address to confirm eligibility.

All sessions are delivered in person and led by CHECKS HAPPY-Joanne Thompson and experienced costume supervisors including Annie Crawford. The course also encourages applications from under-represented groups and offers inclusive support throughout the recruitment process and beyond
