Are you an HETV freelancer who is looking for some tailored career support or would benefit from expanding your contacts?  

If so, join us at one of our dates across the regions at our regional roadshows for practical workshops and networking sessions with industry professionals.

This programme will be delivered by Addie Orfila, Alison Surtees and Shirley Benson

The programme is funded by the ScreenSkills High-end Television Skills Fund made up of contributions from high-end television productions made in the UK. 

 

Who it's for

Getting In: Getting On is aimed at people who are either early in their careers in high-end television or are looking to step up but are finding things difficult. This programme is also aimed at people who have been unsuccessful at gaining a place on ScreenSkills HETV programmes such as Trainee Finder (Early Career), Make a Move and other high-end TV step-up programmes.

What it covers

The one day in person events be held on the following dates:

  • Salford, 21 March 2024
  • Bristol, 9 May 2024
  • Leeds, 20 June 2024
  • Birmingham, 1 July 2024
  • Newcastle, 19 September 2024

These events will start with an afternoon of targeted workshops, covering areas such as:

  • freelancing and resilience
  • CV writing
  • networking techniques and more.

In the evening, invited industry professionals will support facilitated networking to help you:

  • build your network and contacts
  • share practice
  • build mutual support
  • access potential opportunities

These events will be a good chance to get together with your colleagues in person, get advice and support and have a social, with some food and refreshments to get you on the way.
