Flagship 4-month hair and make-up SFX course
CBMA’s flagship 4-month Hair and Makeup SFX course offers practical, industry-focused training for anyone looking to build a career in film, TV, theatre, or fashion.
Students are taught a wide range of skills, including media makeup, special effects makeup, casualty makeup, period wig styling, Afro and textured hair, barbering, and facial hair application. The course is suitable for beginners as well as those looking to develop their existing skills.
Training takes place in small classes, giving students plenty of one-to-one support and hands-on practice. The course is led by Oscar and BAFTA-winning makeup designer Christine Blundell and taught by experienced industry tutors.
Students also gain paid on-set experience, helping them understand how professional productions work and build confidence in real industry settings. CBMA graduates have gone on to work on productions including Wicked, Beetlejuice, and Slow Horses.
