This Creative producing in animation programme has been designed for mid – senior level animation producers and directors, offering practical advice and insight on the skills needed to produce creative animation series, shorts and feature-length films.

Supported by the ScreenSkills Animation Skills Fund with contributions from UK animation productions and delivered by Indielab, the programme is delivered by leading experts to enable animation professionals to develop their skills in collaboration and communication in animation production, production administration and reasoning, and scripting and storyboarding.

Who it's for

This programme is aimed at mid – senior level animation producers who want to develop their animation producing skillset to meet today’s requirements and lead teams to deliver high-quality work. Applicants can be either freelance or studio-based. 

ScreenSkills supports current and future generations of talent to flourish in the screen industries. We are committed to embedding diversity in all its forms, including geographic representation, in the workforce we help to build.

This is an accessible online course. We welcome applications from under-represented groups including but not limited to those from  minority ethnic groups; people with a disability; people from the LGBTQ+ community and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

What it covers

Creative producing in animation will run across four consecutive days between 09.30 -13.30,  from Tuesday 4 to Friday 7 June. It will cover:

  • concept development
  • pre-production admin and resourcing
  • communication and collaboration
  • style development
  • scripting and storyboarding
  • budgeting and scheduling
  • creative team management
  • animation commissioning and distribution.
