As part of our Step Up strand, we’re offering training to help individuals coming back into the industry after a break, moving into a new role, or improving skills in unscripted TV.

The aim of this session is to help equip you with the motivation, language, and tools to become a confident driver of your career journey. We will consider your career vision, the core competencies to develop and how to start taking steps towards being where you want to be.

This will be a collaborative session, in a small group, providing awareness of skills, models and techniques blended with facilitated peer sharing, support, and learning.

This session is supported by the ScreenSkills Unscripted TV Skills Fund which invests in training for the unscripted workforce thanks to contributions from broadcasters, SVoDs and production companies.

Who it's for

This course is for anyone working in Unscripted TV, who wishes to proactively consider their career development.

We generally require applicants to have at least 3 credits (unless working in a traditionally uncredited role). If you strongly feel you would still benefit from the training, please email USF@screenskills.com

We are committed to ensuring all our courses are accessible to everyone. Please email the above address with any access requirements so that we can make the arrangements you need.

What it covers

  • Thinking about where you want to be and how to get there
  • Managing internal and external barriers
  • Building resilience and maintain motivation in a changing industry
  • Appreciating and strengthening core competencies
  • Creating an actionable development plan
  • Open discussion of specific situations within the group
