About Philip Shelley

Philip runs his own script consultancy www.script-consultant.co.uk working with screenwriters and production companies. He writes a fortnightly newsletter on screenwriting via the website.

He is now in the 16th year of running the CHANNEL 4 SCREENWRITING COURSE, a course that has worked with much of the best new talent in UK screenwriting (eg Charlie Covell, The End Of The F***ing World; Vinay Patel, Doctor Who, Murdered By My Father; Theresa Ikoko, Rocks; Anna Symon, Mrs Wilson, Chandni Lakhani, Dublin Murders; Nathaniel Price, Noughts & Crosses, Tin Star).

Philip is in his 3rd year of running the GREENLIGHT SCREENWRITING LAB - a new initiative for Irish screenwriters with Irish production company Danumedia.

Previously - 

 As producer: Margery & Gladys (ITV); Making Waves (ITV); First Sign of Madness (Carlton/ITV), which won awards at the New York TV Festival, Worldfest Houston, and the Columbus Ohio TV festival. 

As Head of Development for Drama at Carlton TV: script edited Anybody’s Nightmare, 2 Inspector Morse films, The Wench is Dead and The Remorseful Day; Kavanagh QC, Plain Jane, Cider with Rosie, Noah’s Ark and The Waiting Time.

As script editor: 2 series Waking The Dead (BBC), A Good Murder (Sally Head Productions / ITV), Medics, Staying Alive and The Knock (ITV). 

As trainer: run screenwriting \ script-editing courses \ sessions at the Arvon Foundation, De Montfort University Leicester, Bath Spa University, UAL \ Central St Martins, Northern Ireland Screen, Indie Training Fund, Baby Cow Productions, Arab Film Studios, Abu Dhabi, Singapore Media Academy, Screen Training Ireland, BBC Writers, ITV Studios and many others.
