The recently published Impact of Injury Report found a significant absence of transparency in casting breakdowns relative to the physical demand of roles, a reality which has created harmful barriers to accessibility and safe practice in production. A casting breakdown is the window through which a performer has sight of the nature of their potential future role, and the information within can support them to make informed decisions about pursuing it. That is what makes breakdowns a key piece of the injury prevention puzzle.
