The ScreenSkills High-end TV (HETV) team celebrated alongside industry members and screen professionals to mark the tenth anniversary of the High-end TV Skills Fund.

At an event at London’s Southbank Centre, ScreenSkills Director of High-end Television, Kaye Elliott, welcomed guests and spoke briefly on the Fund’s 10 year journey, thanking the broadcasters, production companies, training providers and colleagues who’ve helped support the Fund over the decade.

Touching on elements of the Fund’s success, she said: “We have collected contributions of over £36million from more than 1,000 productions to invest back into workforce development across the UK. The Fund has provided a host of support for freelancers and productions at all stages, providing real opportunities for people from all backgrounds to get a foot on the ladder and develop further through our well established flagship entry and progression programmes, not forgetting all of our investment in identified annual grade shortages identified via our industry working groups.

“Through this we have been able to help more than 30,000 individuals enter into and progress within HETV all across the UK. The decade of the Fund has truly made a positive difference to people’s careers and the make-up of today’s workforce.”

ITN journalist Nina Nannar then took to the stage to host an In Conversation with discussion with the Fund’s current and previous Chairs, Barry Ryan and Christine Healy.

The conversation ranged from the Fund’s growth, its key programmes and successes to future priorities, new challenges and the pressing skills currently needed in the sector.
