Experience

  1. 24 Frame Playback Coordinator / Technician

    FILLSCRN (HUN) · Mar 2023 - Dec 2025

At FILLSCRN, a Budapest specialist in on-set playback, hero screen content, motion graphics, and interactive devices, I served as 24fps Playback Content Coordinator and on-set Playback Technician. The role involved reading scripts to identify on-screen device needs (phones, laptops, monitors, props), then liaising with directors, production designers, writers, and showrunners to clarify requirements. If anything was unclear, I coordinated directly with the writing team. Once confirmed, I commissioned the motion design team to create the content, ensured it met creative approvals and deadlines, and delivered it to on-set operators. I also briefed those operators per the director’s instructions, managing timing, interactions, and live playback during takes. This work required strong communication across departments, organization of timelines and approvals, attention to detail in sync and accuracy, and troubleshooting under pressure. It developed skills in large-scale device management, media prep, 24fps synchronization, and reliable on-set execution—transferable to post-production tasks like media organization and assembly. Key productions included: Alien: Romulus (2024, spaceship sets in Budapest), FBI: International (daily episodes), NCIS (newest season/Tony & Ziva spin-off), Maigret (2025 UK adaptation, Budapest as Paris), The Entertainment System Is Down (Ruben Östlund, ~300 screens in airplane set), Matchbox (John Cena action feature), and other major Budapest shoots.

  2. Picture Editor

    Focus Fox (HUN) · Apr 2025 - May 2025

I edited the pilot for György Kristóf's upcoming feature film I Will Find You (working title), a drama in development with Slovak-Hungarian co-production (pitched at MIA Rome 2023 and Pop Up Residency Bratislava). Kristóf (known for Out in Cannes Un Certain Regard 2017 and Zenit 2024) directed, with cinematography by Gergely Pálos (who shot Zenit and has credits with Roy Andersson). The pilot served as a key development piece, and I handled full assembly, pacing, narrative refinement, and close collaboration with the director and DP to shape the project's tone and structure. This was one of my most substantial editing contributions in terms of creative involvement and scale, building on connections with established yet innovative filmmakers in the region.

  3. Picture Editor

    Odesa Films (HUN) · Mar 2022 - May 2023

At Odesa Films in Budapest, I handled editing and post-production for commercials, music videos, band promos, and other content. I worked with directors and teams to deliver final cuts that met client requirements. One key project was editing the music short film In Lumine (2022), a five-chapter piece starring and scored by Hungarian artist Дeva (Dorina Takács). It premiered at Budapest Ritmo festival and is available on VOD. I also edited Witchcraft, Дeva's most-viewed music video (over 320K views on YouTube). Additionally, I cut several festival aftermovies, including for events like Kolorádó and Inota Festival, capturing the atmosphere and highlights in short promo formats. The work gave me experience with music video, short-form narrative, and event-related editing in a production company setting, meeting deadlines and creative briefs.

  4. Picture Editor

    Non Lieu (HUN) · Sep 2022 - Feb 2023

I edited the 19-minute short film Rinocerante (2024), written and directed by Tamás Lakatos, a rising Hungarian filmmaker drawing inspiration from slow cinema directors like Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Béla Tarr, and Hong Sang-soo. The drama unfolds in three tense scenes within a family apartment, delving into toxic masculinity and a fractured father-son dynamic—blending psychological intensity with dark humor rooted in Grimm folklore. In my role, I focused on post-production editing to shape pacing, build emotional tension, and refine the visual rhythm, working closely with Lakatos to craft a suffocating, deliberate atmosphere through careful assembly and cuts. The film premiered on Short of the Week and was awarded Best International Student Film and Best Low Budget Short at the Discover Film Awards in London (a major short film festival with global submissions and screenings in Central London). This project stands out as a strong example of the connections I've built with talented young directors during my freelance career, collaborating on ambitious, narrative-driven work.

  5. Assistant Editor / Editor

    Digipost (HUN) · Apr 2022 - Sep 2022

I worked at Digipost, a Budapest post-production company specializing in editing, finishing, and related services for film and television. During my time there, I handled subtitling for various projects and provided editing consultations to the lead editor on the documentary Crips (Nyomik), directed by Judit Surányi. The film follows four young disabled people on a weekend trip to Lake Balaton, documenting the everyday barriers they face in Hungary—such as inaccessible train travel, shops, services, and public restrooms—while highlighting their friendship, humor, and resilience. As a native English speaker, I translated Hungarian subtitles into accurate English, timed them properly for sync, and ensured overall placement and readability (for international or festival versions). I also offered input on cuts, pacing, and assembly to support the lead editor in refining the narrative. This role gave me practical experience in a professional post house, working on sensitive documentary content, collaborating across languages and teams, and contributing to impactful storytelling.

  6. Assistant Editor / Editor

    Almost Friday (HUN) · Oct 2021 - Feb 2022

I worked as a project based editor at Almost Friday, a Budapest post-production studio focused on commercials, promos, and film finishing. I handled deadline-driven creative edits for promotional content. I edited a TV spot for Comedy Central Hungary to promote a new season of South Park, capturing the show's style within network promo constraints. I also cut promotional material for the Hungarian feature film El a kezekkel a papámtól! (directed by Buda Gulyás and Kata Dobó, 2021 comedy), including trailers or teasers to highlight the story and cast. The role gave me solid experience in a professional post house, delivering client-approved edits under tight creative and time pressure.
