Since completing my BA (Hons) in Film Studies at Edge Hill University with Upper Second-Class Honours, I have continued to expand my industry knowledge and practical skills.My experience includes working as a Props Trainee on the BBC/Left Bank Pictures drama This City Is Ours and most recently as a Location Marshal, where I supported with set operations, public management, and crew assistance. I have also worked as a celebrity handler at Manchester Comic Con, an exciting role that strengthened my confidence in managing high-pressure situations with professionalism.Alongside hands-on production roles, I have engaged with student projects and developed skills across camera, editing, and sound, giving me a strong technical grounding. As a Location Marshal, I supported the team with day-to-day set operations, including setting up easy-ups, moving items for the Locations Assistants, managing public interaction, locking off areas, and ensuring safety around filming sites.

As a Location Marshal for the day, my role involved managing access to residential areas during filming. I ensured that only authorised personnel entered the restricted zones and communicated with local residents to minimise disruptions. My duties also included coordinating with the production team to ensure smooth operations while maintaining safety and compliance throughout the day.

Props Trainee
As a Props Trainee, I played a key role in supporting the props department across various tasks on set and in the props store. My responsibilities included: Prop Creation: Assisted in the creation and preparation of props, including techniques like ageing down items to fit the scene's requirements. Prop Management: Involved in the organisation, storage, and maintenance of props, ensuring they were ready and available when needed. Set Dressing: Helped with setting and dressing scenes to ensure props were correctly placed according to the director's vision. Logistics Support: Assisted with the loading and unloading of vehicles, and collected parcels and deliveries essential for the props department. Props Store Operations: Worked in the props store, managing inventory and ensuring all items were catalogued and stored correctly. Standby Props Experience: Had the opportunity to work and shadow the standby props teams on set, gaining hands-on experience in real-time adjustments and prop management during filming. General Duties: Carried out general cleaning duties to maintain a tidy work environment and assisted with administrative tasks, such as processing delivery notes and other paperwork.

Location Marshall
Liaising with the public and various departments to facilitate their needs on the production, I was responsible for marshalling across several city centre sites. Locking off pedestrian and vehicular access around set, on the final strike day, clearing the set, checking and collecting radios and ensuring items were collected, and loading everything for pickup.

I was a volunteer celebrity guest handler at the Manchester Comic Con 2023. I managed autograph and selfie payments, organised queue management, escorted guest to photoshoots and Q&A panels, ensured guest well-being.

I shadowed the crew on the set of Hollyoaks as they set up for the day's filming and helped set up props and return them to the props store.

Operations Partner
Four years as a collections partner on the store's Click & Collect Point. Securely opened and closed the Click & Collection to ensure a smooth daily running of the store. Assisted customers with collecting and receiving their orders while dealing with queries and signing up for store loyalty cards and provided details about key benefits. Handled complex customer complaints, consistently earning positive feedback from management for effective conflict resolution. My last role within the company was to take customer orders over the phone daily, using CSS, a POS system. Accepted and processed cash and card payments. Used product knowledge, sales abilities, and customer relations skills to drive substantial sales increases while taking customers’ orders over the enquiry system. • Provide an outstanding in-store experience through cheerful and attentive customer service. • Continually replenish the stock in line with sales records for well-maintained displays and customer ease. • Maintain an easy-to-navigate stock room, ensuring products are stored and displayed in an order that makes it easy for merchandisers and sales assistants to find the stock when required for display or to sell. • Open, shelve and merchandise new products visually appealing and organise display areas for optimal sales promotions. • Provide service with a smile, offering courteous, helpful advice to best meet customer needs. • Maintained a clean and safe work environment, strictly following company procedures to ensure all stockroom areas were always clean, tidy, and presentable. At the same time, they have taken care of the customer fitting rooms. • Facilitate smooth store operations, utilising spreadsheets to record transactions and maintain an accurate inventory balance. • I worked closely with the sales specialists to train new team members for the Christmas period and helped the new partners for optimum productivity by training partners on the systems we use in-store and trained team members on effective stockroom control to increase productivity and maintain order.

Set up and operated studio lighting on a pilot episode for a studio-based music show. The episode was also used for a promotional video for Liverpool Jazz.

Responsible for cutting, arranging, and assembling the raw footage captured to serve the film's story and the director's vision.

I was studio-based, liaising with crew and actors on set on a pilot for a short tv drama. Relayed instructions from the gallery to the studio floor using a talkback system. Checked equipment, e.g., earpieces and microphones. Controlled the studio and halted production if necessary.

Office Assistant
Managed daily office operations and equipment maintenance. • Made photocopies, sent them to teachers and handled all incoming and outgoing correspondence for the office staff. • Served as a central point of contact for all outside vendors needing to gain access to the building. • Managed receptionist area, including greeting visitors and responding to telephone and in-person requests for information. • Assisted the office staff members in daily tasks and performance. • Provided the headteacher support when needed. • Oversaw organisation, filing and retrieving school records while supervised by senior staff members.

Work placement set by the school • Developed appealing merchandising displays to grow sales for high-margin products, leading to profit increase. • Assisted customers with product selection, constantly finding new ways to improve service. • Checked and received deliveries, practising safe and secure loading methods to avoid damage of goods. • I maintained and replenished stock shelves according to store merchandising layout, ensuring consistent product availability. • Placed items in bags and thanked customers for their purchases while a sales assistant processed payments. • Always stayed patient and calm, even with demanding customers or in stressful situations. • Facilitated optimum presentation of the store through cleaning, organising, and tidying of areas within the store. • Monitored customers for signs of security concerns and escalated issues to management. • Discuss the latest video game console releases with customers, to assist in any way I could with their purchase. • Opened, shelved, and merchandised new video games, DVDs and CDS in visually appealing and organised displays for optimal sales promotions. • Prioritised and effectively managed time to ensure all stock duties were completed promptly. • Maintained and cleaned the stockroom to ensure easy, safe access for team members.

Knowledge and skills Introduction To Film and TV Boot Camp
I had the invaluable opportunity to participate in a one-day boot camp facilitated by the Liverpool Film Office and hosted by Liverpool Locations. Throughout this comprehensive session, I delved into various aspects crucial within the industry. Learning the industry jargon and deciphering call sheets became second nature, as did understanding movement orders and the intricacies of location management. The session was not only about theoretical knowledge but also about practical applications. I honed my CV structuring skills, gaining insights into essential roles within the industry and understanding the nuances of invoice handling. Moreover, the boot camp provided hands-on experiences; I had the chance to witness the setup of an EZ-Up Production Tent and understand the workings of Two Way Radios in the context of Film and TV production. This immersive session was incredibly informative, offering a holistic understanding of the industry's operations.
