About
I am a multi-disciplinary creative, happy to work across costume, props, art dept and scenic painting. I'm based in Glasgow, and available to start work immediately. I studied Law at university; however, my passion has always been rooted in creativity, costuming, storytelling, and crafting. So I decided to pursue my passion and build a career in film & TV. I’m dedicated, adaptable and continually developing my skills. I've taught myself many skills relevant to these departments within the industry, including sewing, painting and metalworking. I've previously worked as a Scenic Painter for 'Outlander: Blood of my Blood', and in the Art Department of a feature film. For the same production, I also loaned multiple costume pieces I had made, and assisted the costume designer in her studio. During my time at Glasgow University I was head of the DF Scenic Painting Society, and the fashion coordinator for the Charity Fashion Show. During university I also ran my own small business specialising in luxury fashion and costuming, through this endeavour I made bespoke pieces for clients in the UK and overseas, participated in fashion shows, photoshoots and advertising campaigns, won competitions, and been featured in the press.

Costume Designer
Since 2021, I have been running my own costume and womenswear business. My custom made designs have sold worldwide for £250 - £700. My business originally specialised in porcelain-effect corsetry, but I later branched out to create a wider range of garments and accessories. One of my most recent looks, entirely patterned and sewn by myself won the Scotand Fashion Week x Dressed to Kilt design award, winning me the opportunity to display my designs in New York during Tartan Week. All my pieces are designed, pattern-drafted, constructed and hand-painted by myself. Running my store has helped me gain valuable communication, customer service and time-management skills. As each piece is custom-made, my business model involves a great deal of client-facing work throughout the bespoke design and manufacture process. Running this business has helped me improve my interpersonal, garment construction, business management, and production process skills.

Studio Intern
Over the years I have assisted in fashion designer Mairi McDonald's studio during her busiest periods (lead up to London fashion week, bulk orders, etc.). I assist with a variety of tasks including styling runway looks, pattern cutting, steaming, and running errands.
-
Junior Scenic Painter
I recently worked within the Outlander Scenic Painting department. Following a successful week's work experience placement, I was asked back to work on the team. During this role, I helped paint sets, both in the studio and on location, and learned many new skills.
-
Costume Designer
I designed, sourced, and altered the costumes for the play Red Rabbit which debuted at the Edinburgh Horror Festival.
-
Costume Intern
In March I had the opportunity to assist costume designer Cara Roxburgh in her studio. This shadowing placement came about after I met Cara on the set of ‘Fight Me!’ and lent her some of my high school design projects to costume a scene with 3 young cosplayers. Following this, Cara offered me the opportunity to help create some historical inspired costuming at her studio. This allowed me to experience leatherworking for the first time and pick up many other exciting new skills.
-
Art Department Trainee
In January, I completed a work experience as an Art trainee on the set of the feature length film ‘Fight Me!’. In this role I worked alongside the rest of the Art department under Art Director Rhianonne Stone, to create props, dress sets, run petty cash buying errands, and reset scenes for the movie. My handmade bodices and shoes were also borrowed to dress a scene set in a costume designer’s bedroom.

Head Painter
As part of the DF Painting and Building committee I helped organise and decorate the University Union’s biggest annual social event. In 2023, I was chosen as head painter becoming creative lead on the theme and design concepts. I oversaw budgeting, scheduling and managed a team of 27 painters. Our team successfully completed 25 13ft murals in 3 months. I loved this role and particularly enjoyed working in a large team, having the creative freedom to design a theme from scratch, and collaborating to complete the task under time pressure and within budget.
-
Jewellery Intern
I was selected for Vanilla Ink CIC jewellery school’s summer internship. At this internship I created a piece of jewellery based on a mock client brief for display in Vanilla Ink’s Christmas exhibition. I also helped with cleaning and organising the workbenches, compiling order lists to replace missing or damaged equipment, assisting with classes, and welcoming customers.
-
Fashion Coordinator
My role as fashion coordinator involved recruiting and maintaining relationships with the designers, managing all borrowed garments, writing lending contracts, managing the backstage helpers, acting as a dresser on the night, and handling shipping. I also had general duties relating to event organisation, on-campus representation of our charity partner, and fundraising. This helped me develop my communication, organization, IT, trend forecasting and conflict resolution skills. We raised £44,005 for Glasgow & Clyde Rape Crisis. I found it very rewarding to raise money for such an important charity while putting on an event I could be proud of and meeting many new friends and incredible up-and-coming designers. I also exhibited 3 of my own looks in the show; it was incredibly exciting to see a crowd’s reaction to my designs for the first time.
-
Sales Assistant
I previously worked a part-time job as a sales assistant in M&Co. This retail position allowed me to develop planning and inventory management skills, as well as experience working in a team and assisting customers. My usual duties included unloading, steaming, and inventorying new stock, operating the checkouts, cleaning the store, and assisting at the dressing rooms.
