Wanted: hairdressers and make-up artists to support the changing face of film and TV.

Are you a hairdresser or make-up artist experienced in working with Black hair or make-up for people of colour? If yes, why not transfer your skills into film and television?

This free online event will be an introduction to working in hair and make-up for the screen industries. It will also be an opportunity to learn about a forthcoming programme that will offer expert training as well as paid placements on productions from the likes of Netflix and ITV Studios for 16 successful candidates.

The training programme is funded by the ScreenSkills Film and High-end Television Skills Funds made up of contributions from high-end television productions and films made in the UK.

Who it's for

This evening event is targeted at hairdressers, barbers, make-up artists etc. currently working in areas including Black hair salons, on photo-shoots, in wedding beauty, department stores, music videos, live events and theatre.

Applicants for the training programme and placement opportiunities will need to have extensive experience in working with Black hair or with make-up for people of colour (it is not expected that candidates will have both).

What it covers

You'll get an overview of the world of production, hear from industry professionals on the work they do day-to-day on set, in the studio and on location, as well as the opportunities available to transfer your existing skills into this booming industry.

The 90-minute session will take place via Zoom.
