This course is aimed at make-up artists wishing to step up a level with their design and technical skills. The course will involve setting, dressing out, fitting and applying wigs as well as using make-up and costume to achieve the final finish for their required look.
The course starts with a trip to the National Portrait Gallery, where students develop an eye for authentic reference subjects such as paintings, statues and busts. Building on basic period and historical skills the student will already know, they will research 2 period looks of their own choice to combine period make-up and hair for creation of an individual project. This will involve setting, dressing out, fitting and applying wigs as well as using make-up and costume to achieve the final finish for their required look.
The course is ideal for those going on to work on period dramas where the make-up artist may need refreshing their skills.
This course has been endorsed by the high-end TV working groups, supporting the continued professional development of the high-end TV industry and crew.
