This course covers all areas of special effects prosthetics work in depth, using the latest creative and laboratory techniques, through workshops, tutor demonstrations and individual student projects.
There is a particular focus on honing students’ practical skills and their ability to work with a wide range of products and equipment, with an emphasis on time management and learning how to preform under pressure. Students will learn the specialised techniques for design, life casting, sculpting, mould making and application. There will be a practical timed assessment at the end of the course focusing on the application of a prosthetic piece designed and made by the student. A professional photographer will record the student’s work to ensure they have high standard of professional photos for their portfolios.
A variety of trained make-up artists. Students enrolling on the course should already have some prior knowledge of working with prosthetics, and their portfolio will be assessed prior to enrolling.
