Paris has graduated with an MA in Theatre Directing from RADA with distinction in 2013. He is also a graduate of Athens Drama School (3-year acting Diploma) as well as King’s College Law School (LLB). He has followed as well as given a large number of theatre workshops and seminars in Cyprus, Greece, Italy, UK and New York. In 2014 he worked as the assistant and touring/staff director to Declan Donnellan in Cheek by Jowl’s international tour of ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore’. He has also worked as a drama teacher (National Youth Arts Trust) and director at Theatre Royal Stratford East. He worked as an Associate Radar Director at Bush Theatre (London) and in the summer he will work as Associate Director in NYT’s 2015 summer theatre project ‘Homegrown’. Paris worked as an actor and director both in Greece and Cyprus and has been a member the physical theatre company KINITIRAS based in Athens. As an actor he has taken part in a number of performances as well as international theatre festivals like the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The London Festival of Greek Drama and the Patravadi Fringe Festival in Bangkok, Thailand as well as appearing in film and television productions in Greece, Cyprus and the UK. In 2008 he founded his own theatre company -Fresh Target Theatre Ensemble- bringing together people from many artistic and other disciplines. The company is keen on productions that relate to public issues and can constitute a common experience for actors and audiences alike: an experience that immerses the audience into the world of the play, paying as much attention to the space as well as to the performers and the text. The first production of the company was The Lover by Harold Pinter, which he directed and adapted. He directed and produced six more plays in Greece and Cyprus getting rave reviews from both the Greek and Cypriot press: New World Order 1&2 (H. Pinter), Contractions (M. Bartlett), Adolf (P. Utton), Heart of A Dog (Michael Bulgakov). Fresh Target Theatre Ensemble has also represented Cyprus at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design 2011 while the lead actor of the New World Order 2 production won the best male actor award at the Cyprus National Theatre Awards (2012). In October 2012 he directed the first play he has written, namely, A Slight Risk, included in the official programme of the Kypria International Festival 2012 in the context of the Cyprus EU Presidency 2012. Other directing credits include ‘The Fall’ by John Webber (Theatre 503), The Heart of a Dog by M. Bulgakov, (Paravan Proactions), A Slight Risk (Soho Theatre - staged reading), Love and Money by Dennis Kelly (RADA).
