About
Kathleen started her career in fashion, gaining a BA Hons in Fashion Design from the University of Leeds. Upon graduating and having completed a year in industry for the renowned British designer, Jenny Packham, she accepted a role as a garment technician at the company. Here she spent some years learning expert couture sewing techniques and insight into pattern drafting and draping, as well as the workings of a high-end fashion label. Kathleen has always been passionate about film and theatre and the next step for her was to study a Masters in costume design at the London College of Fashion, where she graduated with distinction. During her time on the course she was able to expand her knowledge of costume making and design by creating costumes for short films, theatre and music videos. After graduating, Kathleen worked in the costume department for the latest Paul Thomas Anderson movie, ‘Phantom Thread,’ starring Daniel Day Lewis. This gave her excellent insight into the running of a costume department on a big budget feature film and the excitement that goes with it. Since this opportunity, she has started on a career path in film, television and theatre. She has worked as a costume trainee and maker for the Sky One series, ‘Bounty Hunters 2’, as well as working as a designer and maker for various TV commercials and short films. Kathleen has also been able to fulfil the role of Costume Designer for many theatre productions such as ‘The Three Muskateers’ (Iris Theatre), ‘The Importance of Being Ernest’ and ‘Lorna Doone’ (Pleasure Dome Theatre Company).
