Sophie is a graduate of the Royal College of Music where she studied composition with Jonathan Cole and clarinet with David Campbell. Since graduating she has worked in theatre, film and television as a composer / arranger, including roles at Shakespeare's Globe, The National Theatre, St James's Theatre and Park Theatre. Highlights include: 'Don't Wake Me: The Ballad of Nihal Armstrong' (dir. Guy Slater, St James's Theatre), 'Little Black Book' (dir. Kate Fahy, Park Theatre), 'Unlined' (film - dir. John Michael Muskos - shortlisted for National Independent Film Awards 2015) and assisting Claire Van Kampen in her arrangements for the Olivier-nominated 'Farinelli and the King' at both The Sam Wannermaker Playhouse and The Duke of York's Theatre. Most recently, Sophie composed a section of score for the BFI / Globe collaborative film 'Play On: Shakespeare in Silent Film', alongside five other Globe composers. The film is a celebration of Shakespeare in silent film and commemorates the 400th anniversary of the bard's death. In April 2016, Sophie was invited to become a fellow at Civitella Ranieri in central Italy, where she concentrated on her latest piece for mixed ensemble and electronics.

Sophie is also an actress and recently appeared in the Oscar-winning short film Stutterer.

She is represented by Madeleine Pudney at United Agents.
