About
In 2012, I founded the ensemble We Are Raw Material in London in order to make work which questions the status quo in an encounter between the raw material of the human being, the text and the space. I make work that encompasses various artistic forms from film, theatre performance, poetry recitals, site-specific actions, live installations and creative laboratories. I have directed plays by Chekhov, Pirandello, Plato, Euripides, Lorca amongst others.
My training is quite unorthodox: I have been taught screenwriting and filming with non-actors by Luc Dardenne at the time he won the Palme d’Or for Rosetta and directing actors and composition by Russian artist, director and pedagogue Anatoli Vassiliev.
I have just completed writing two shorts: the first, Militos, explores the ideas of ritual and the foreigner, I will begin shooting in Greece in April 2018 and the second, is an art doc titled Samadhi, questioning the search for spirituality in London City for which I am currently in preproduction.
