John is a Film and Television Production Designer. A member of the BBC design department for twenty years. Designer of The Death of Kinghoffer, winner of the Prix Italia. Designer of A Boy Called Dad, selected for the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2009, and nominated for the Michael Powell award for Best British Feature Film. A BAFTA award winning Designer.
PRODUCTION DESIGNER – Freelance – 2001 – 2018
Responsibilities:-
Manage and coordinate all aspects of Production Design for Independent Feature Films.
Conceptual design, presentation and realisation.
Recruit and manage Art Department.
Control and allocate departmental budgets.

Responsibilities:-
Manage and coordinate the Design of TV productions. Including Drama, Light Entertainment and Lifestyle.
Manage set construction and the provision of dressing and action props for studios and locations.
ART DIRECTOR – BBC – 1980 – 1985
Responsibilities:-
Technical drawing and detailing of set designs.
Coordinate and assist in the design, construction, setting and dressing for broadcast productions.
