I was born in Athens, Greece. After graduating from High School, I studied Philosophy & History of Science in the Kapodestrian University of Athens, as I wanted to have an overall education, which will help comprehend notions such us, death, time e.t.c. Matters that I would like to explore through the art of cinema, my true passion.
During my university years, I participated in the production team of Music, Art & Technology Festivals & short Films as well.
In 2008, I began to direct interactive plays for young children. My first one “Apple, Cinnamon & Sugar” was an instant success and it has been on stage for the last 7 years. I have also directed 3 more, which have had the same success and they have been on stage since 2010 & 2013 and the last one has it’s premiere this October and it was an instant hit. For more information you could have a look at the plays’ website tofratzolaki.gr.
In 2012, before I moved to London, I directed her first short film “Do you Remember when we Used to go to the Sea?” which won the “New Director” Award at the London Greek Festival (2013).
In October 2013, I graduated from London Film Academy where I received my Filmmaking Diploma. During 2015, I directed several short films including an 8’ minute short film “Parson & Son”, which was well received and won the “Award of Merit” in the Best Shorts Competitions festival. “Parson & Son” was screened at the Oberhausen Festival for short films & at the Henley Fringe Festival.
Proceeding my studies, I have been working as an active filmmaker, living in London. I have participated in lots of short films as a member of the production team and as a self shooting ‘director/camera operator’ and ‘editor’.
I finished my last short film, "Neighbourhood", this December and now it's doing the festival run. At the moment I am writing a new short film.
My plans is to find a job in a production company and meet new collaborators.
