Over a 7 year period I traveled 50,000km throughout the 32 counties on the island of Ireland to complete my work Gaelic Fields.
The photo documentary captures the action of grassroots Gaelic club games in their unique surroundings.
Gaelic Fields showcases Ireland's landscape in a way which is unique and familiar. It is also a portrait of communities and the social nature of Gaelic games.
After a successful Kickstarter campaign, where I received over €14000 in preorders of the book in a 28 day period, I published the book in late November of 2016. It received critical acclaim and widerspead press coverage.
The 7 year photo journey was funded by my work in support accommodation for 18-25year olds who are homeless or at risk of being homeless in Cork City. I am also the organiser of Cork's homeless street league.
