Elizabeth Hagen

Undergrad, Actor, Director

  • Career stage: Experienced

I am currently a second year Drama and Theatre Student studying at the University of Kent. I have always had a strong passion for live performance and thrive in the theatre. My initial path was to become an actor, however as I have developed I now feel like working towards being a director, theatre producer or working in casting would be ideal. However, as much as I love live performance, working with film/television/other medias would also be of interest.

These are the skills and experience I have that corrospond with being a performer: Physical Theatre Training, Shakespeare's Theatre, Naturalism, Improvisation, HipHop Dance at an intermediate level. I hope to gain more experience in other fields as I progress through my studies.

I would like to either undertake post-graduate study in Directing, or find a graduate scheme in which I can gain experience in the Drama field and work my way up whilst building up a portfolio. I am hoping to direct Shakespeare in the new future, and love adapting literature or classical plays to the contemporary stage.

I am making my directorial debut in March 2016, co-directing a production of A Servant To Two Masters at the Gulbenkian in Canterbury.

So far, I have played a large variety of amateur roles such as: Annabella in 'Tis Pity She's A Whore (T24 Drama), Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (Canterbury Shakespeare Festival), Linda in the non-musical version of Blood Brothers (Sharnbrook Mill Theatre) and a multiroling ensemble member in The Picture Of Dorian Gray (T24 Drama). I have been in the ensemble in a variety of musicals such as Parade (MTS Kent), Gypsy (Sharnbrook Mill Theatre), and West Side Story (Sharnbrook Mill Theatre). I also take part in an Improvisation group in my hometown called At The Drop Of A Hat.
