I am a writer and a performer. A graduate of both the Belgrade Theatre’s Critical Mass and the Royal Court Theatre local invitation playwriting schemes and 2014 alumna for the Orange Tree Theatre’s invitation writers group. My work has been staged by a range of the UK’s leading new writing venues; Manchester Royal Exchange, Bolton Octagon Theatre, Theatre 503, High Tide, The Space, Old Red Lion, and West Yorkshire Playhouse. I recently wrote and performed my first one-woman show LARP and received five-star reviews. My other full-length plays, SOMEONE WITH A NATURALLY CHEERY DISPOSITION SOUGHT was longlisted for the 2015 Bruntwood Prize and MINDLESS MEDITATIONS was longlisted for the 2013 Verity Bargate Award.

Currently, I am working on my first Radio Commission for BBC Radio 3, who have taken my pitch for a 5-minute radio drama, WALNUT WHIP to script stage for part of their Music Day Monologues. It was also released that the BBC have added me to their New Talent hot list, which is exciting!

Last year I secured two commissions, one from Talawa and the Manchester Exchange for their COME CLOSER, SPEAK WHAT YOU FEEL monologues, performed last April at the Royal Exchange alongside their production of KING LEAR. And BBC 3 and the Writers Room commissioned TITS a 5-minute film monologue, part of THE BREAK II season. In addition, I was a part of the BBC Writers Room Sketch Comedy Group for emerging writers. In addition, I completed the 10 weeks, 10 sessions, invitation Talawa & BBC Writers Room “London Voices” Group. I was also shortlisted for this year’s Old Vic 12, from 700 writers to a short list of 40.

Screenwriting experience; I’ve completed a five-week writing for comedy course at Lewisham Adult Education, and won a place through Ideas Tap onto the very prestigious Laurence Marks Comedy Writing Masterclass weekend. I have also completed the Morley College, Screenwriting and writing for television: Stage 2 and City Lit’s Screenwriting: stage 1. Through these programs, I have written for the screen, various practice spec scripts, and treatments.
