Hi there,

I'm a London based Scottish actress and singer/songwriter. I moved to London from Edinburgh to attend university. I originally studied History at King's College London, graduating with a 2:1. I was then lucky enough to receive a DADA scholarship award to attend The Oxford School of Drama.

Work as an actress

I joined the Lyceum Youth Theatre In Edinburgh when I was 8 years old and remained a member until I left Scotland age 18. This opened up great opportunities for me in my youth, including being offered parts in shows at The Royal Lyceum and The Traverse Theatre. I worked a bit in TV as a teenager as well, playing a leading role in CBBC/BBC Scotland programme Intergalactic Kitchen.

I always wanted to study acting at drama school and was offered a place on the three year course at The Oxford School of Drama in 2010.

Training - The Oxford School of Drama

TV credits include New Tricks (BBC 1), Doctors (BBC 1), The Last Laugh (BBC 3) and Intergalactic Kitchen (CBBC/BBC Scotland).

Theatre credits since graduating include Romeo and Juliet (York Theatre Royal), Honest (Theatre6- regional tour); and Enduring Song (Southwark Playhouse).

Animation credits include playing the Fairy Nymph in Xbox game Fable Legends for Pinewood Group.

Singer and songwriter under the pseudonym Storm Ballantine

I have been singing and writing songs for as long as I can remember. I trained classically in singing to Grade 8 whilst at school and in musical theatre at drama school. However, my passion has always been in folk music. When I was a teenager, I was the lead singer in all female Scottish band Problems With Jonny, which received runner up in Scottish Battle of The Bands.

I am now the lead singer and songwriter for alt-folk duo LEAO.

LEAO take their musical influences and inspirations from a number of genres and artists such as Daughter, Laura Marling and Bear’s Den. With folk and storytelling at its core, LEAO experiment with electronic production, soul riffs and ethereal, a cappella harmonies to create a unique sound.

We play regularly across London venues, including The Troubadour, Proud Camden, The Good Ship and The Half Moon. Last year, we supported Brother & Bones at the O2 Academy Islington and we’ll be playing the main stage at Innocent Unplugged Festival in May this year.

We have just finished recording our new EP with production from Jess Sharman (Sigala, Luke Friend) which includes the debut single VILLAIN – released 12.02.16. Other tracks include a rendition of Queen’s ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST and a fully a cappella track called SAVIOUR.

"Creative songwriting from a perfectly matched pair of musicians" – LIVAMP

"Storm has an enchanting voice suited perfectly to the songs they were playing. I would highly recommend these guys if you are into acoustic music or folk with a modern feel" – LondonTheatre
