Jaclyn Bradley

Director - Artistic Director of CandleFire Theatre

  • Location: Reading
  • Career stage: Early
  • Freelancer: Available

I have been directing for four years. I currently work as a freelance theatre practioner, and have a broad skills set which encompasses Directing, Assistant Directing, Workshop Facilitation/Teaching and stage management.

In 2015 I established CandleFire Theatre. The company worked as a rolling ensemble on three classical productions over eighteen months - Those productions were, A Midsummer Night's Dream at Waterloo East, Volpone at The Cockpit and Romeo & Juliet at The Jack Studio Theatre.

As a freelance director I have also worked at Southwark Playhouse, the Bunker, Canal Cafe, the Bread and Roses, the Etcetera, the Hen & Chickens and Barons Court theatre.

My assistant directing work includes a UK open air tour of 'The Railway Children' for Heartbreak Productions.

I come from a performance background so my work is heavily informed from my experiences as an actor. I work from a very visual point of view, but also emotional truth and complexity of relationships.

I have been working in the theatre industry for over ten years, in many different capacities, amassing experience and skills along the way.

I also work as a drama facilitator, having previously worked with the orn Exchange Newbury, Bershire Theatre School, Identity School of Acting and Drama Studio London. I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
