Damsel Productions is a theatre company with the key aim to bring together female theatre artists, directors and producers to breathe life into scripts written by women. Our productions aim to provoke, inspire, shock and, of course, entertain with true and honest representations of the female experience. We hope to engage audiences who may generally shy away from theatre, and empower those who have traditionally felt excluded.
In November 2015, we proudly presented our first production, the UK première of DRY LAND by Ruby Rae Spiegel, an important coming-of-age story about abortion, sexuality, bodies, swimming, the often painful experience of being a teenager and an unlikely friendship put to the most extreme of tests. The production was a sell-out, receiving remarkable critical acclaim, including five stars in The Stage, and four stars in the Independent and What’s On Stage.
