About
Born in 1969 in Durham, England, I'm the mother of two spirited teenagers and a freelance Screenwriter and short-story writer living in Preston, Lancashire. I'm a passionate and enthusiastic storyteller, and enjoy the challenge of bringing fictional characters the resolutions they need. I'm an award winning screenwriter and have had both poetry and short stories published in copy and online.
I enjoy writing in all forms but have had particular success with scriptwriting. I am lead writer on Independent feature film 'The Blackout' which is currently in post-production in Preston, Lancashire I have also co-written a feature 'The Estate' which is currently funded and in pre-production. In 2013 I won the Northern Rail Safety award for my short film entitled 'Don't Lose the Race' which was used as part of their national rail safety campaign. I've had scripts read by David Morrisey and have just signed a release for another to be read by Hugh Grant (yes really!!)
I'm currently writing a comedy/drama series for production company Kazadi Films as well as collaborating on a book of short stories and flash fiction.
My current 'works in progress' also include a contemporary women's novel and a multi-genre feature film.
I graduate this year with a First Class Honours degree in Creative Writing and Film & TV Screenwriting from Preston's University of Central Lancashire where I have completed modules in poetry, short story writing, article writing to commission, TV screenwriting, Life and autobiographical writing and Film writing.
