About
I'm a freelance theatre director living and working primarily in London. I am the artistic director of Mingled Yarn (www.mingledyarn.org) and an associate director of Queynte Laydies.
I want to create theatre that is honest, thrilling, accessible, inventive, and that unites the best of the stories we already know with those yet to be told. My theatre company, Mingled Yarn, creates new work based on pre-existing events and stories, and reworkings of pre-existing texts. Most recently, our work has included a new adaptation of Joseph Moncure March's 1920s poem 'The Wild Party', which ran at The Hope Theatre and received five star reviews and award nominations.
I have assisted at Sheffield Crucible, Shakespeare's Globe, and Chester Performs, among other places. In 2017, I was a Finalist for the JMK Award.
I am also a writer and a blogger, and regularly contribute to Exeunt magazine and The Stage. I had my first piece as a commissioned writer performed as part of Hotel Europe, an installation of plays about Europe and the EU created by Isley Lynn and David Loumgair, in January 2017; I am currently developing my first full length piece for theatre.
