Isla is a scriptwriter and playwright, originally from Cornwall and based in London.

She graduated from the Warwick Writing Programme specialising in playwriting, before training at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.  

Her first play, Porcelain, was shortlisted for the South West New Writing Initiative and she took part in the Royal Court Young Writer’s Programme, where her work was performed in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs at the Royal Court, directed by Lyndsey Turner.

Since then her theatre work has been produced at various London theatres and international festivals. 

For television, Isla has written for The Cut (BBC2), Hollyoaks (Channel 4) and is currently writing for Holby City (BBC1).

Isla sits on the Broadcast Committee as a writer for the Society of Authors.
