Rocky Palladino (1985) is a writer and director from South East England.
He made his first film as an ambitious nineteen year old- Waiting at the Gate- on a low/no budget feature that took two years to complete. It eventually won the Selection Committee prize at the Milano Film Festival and screen at others, including San Francisco's IndieFest. His subsequent work as a writer/director includes an experimental thriller short- One Behind- which was developed at Film London, showcased at the London Short Film Festival and distributed by Shorts International on their Shorts HD and Shorts TV platforms across Europe and America. His most recent short- Honour- is currently on the festival circuit and recently won the Youth Prize at the 20MinMax festival in Germany.
His feature screenplay developments include Rossellini/Bergman (semi-finalist as a ScreenCraft Fellowship) and Infinite Nostalgia (long-listed by BBC Writersroom and selected in 2013 as an Artist-in-Residence at the Binger Filmlab in Amsterdam, where the project received several months of renowned workshops and development support). His latest feature project- Phea- is a modern story inspired by the classic Orpheus mythology.
Away from set, he frequently runs workshops in filmmaking and screen acting for organisations such as BFI Creative Skillset, Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the London Film School and is a co-director of the training camp Young Screen Artists Ltd.
He remains ambitious.
