Sumerah is a writer and librettist with a background in feature film production (Company Pictures, Alliance Atlantis, Irish Screen and Producer Allan Niblo) and commercial radio (Club Asia London).

She’s been a member of the Royal Court’s Critical Mass and Studio writers’ programmes, Stratford East’s Musical Theatre Initiative and the Orange Tree Writers Collective. Her plays have been performed at Soho, Contact, Tristan Bates and the Orange Tree.

She is currently under commission to the Redbridge Drama Centre and balances writing whilst working part time as a script researcher on EastEnders.
