Janet Etuk

  • Location: Croydon, London
  • Career stage: Expert

I’ve grown up with an acute need to create and tell stories and have sought to find every opportunity to further my career as a passionately driven deviser of the arts. This includes gaining various experiences from multiple creative schemes including; The Betty Wivell Academy, The National Youth Theatre, The North Wall Project (Oxford) and London Talent project (Lyric Hammersmith). By being accepted into these organizations I was able to learn more about developing work through writing and devising. This later on pointed me towards the East 15 Acting school, where I studied a BA Hons degree in Acting and Contemporary Theatre, graduating in 2012.

Janet graduated from the Acting and Contemporary theatre course at East 15 in 2012. After graduating she began to work extensively with Alexander Zeldin on productions such as: Beyond Caring (The Yard Theatre/The National Theatre); Doing The Idiots (National Theatre Studio) and Touch Me (The Rustaveli Theatre, Tbilisi). Other credits include The Four Minute Mile (Oxford Playhouse); Sealand (Alchemist, Arcola Theatre); The Spanish Tragedy (Old Red Lion) and Lone Rangers (Unstable Table, Blue Elephant Theatre). Janet has most recently toured Sabrina Mahfouz’s production of The Love I Feel Is Red (Tobacco Factory Theatre/ Oran Mor) and has debuted scenes from her play, Mkpa Mbiet (Dead Grass) for The Southwark Playhouse and Arcola Theatre LAB Project, January 2014. She will be part of Alexander Zeldin’s newest devised production entitled Love, which debuts at The National Theatre, late 2016.
