I've just finished my contract as the Associate Director of the New Vic Theatre in Staffordshire, repsonsible for the Hoard Festival, involving 19 new commissions of work, inspired by the discovery of the Staffordshire Hoard.
Past directing work includes What Happens in the Winter, co-directed with Upswing Aerial Arts, Bee Detective (Unlimited Commission for the Cultural Olympiad), The Littlest Quirky for Theatre Centre (Stratford Circus and Bath Theatre Royal), The Merry Wives of Windsor and A Midsummer Night's Dream for The Oxford Shakespeare Company, Hangover Square at the Finborough, Fight Face by Sophie Woolley at the Lyric Hammersmith, a national tour and sell out dates at the Royal Festival Hall of When to Run by Sophie Woolley, Eden's Empire by James Graham at the Finborough, Thatcherwrite, Hallelujah and Decade at Theatre503 and Silence by Moira Buffini (The Other Place, Stratford and Arcola).
I won the Gate Theatre’s directing bursary in 2004 and took part in the National Theatre Studio’s Directors Course in 2006. I've been a regional director with NT Connections and a part of the Old Vic New Voices network. I'm also Artistic Director of the award winning Tin Bath Theatre Company and was previously Associate Director of Theatre503 in London. I also regularly works as a practitioner for RSC Education, Shakespeare’s Birthplace and Youth Music Theatre and direct at drama schools: Bristol Old Vic, LIPA, Arts Ed and ALRA.
