About
Jamie was brought up in the small seaside town of Blyth in the North East of England, he is a producer, writer and occasional actor who is now trying to take on theatreland in London.
Jamie studied Theatre studies with Rose Bruford College as well as spending a year with the North East's top film making academy Northern Stars. Being brought up around amateur dramatics with a choreographer Grandmother and dancing Mother, it was no surprise that Jamie would spend his adolescence playing a number of lead roles at the Phoenix Theatre, Blyth.
At thirteen he produced, wrote and shot his first short film that went on to be shown at the Co-operative young film makers festival, in recent years he was one of the founding members of Bay video, a production company based in the North East.
On leaving school and in the midst of studying Jamie gained his first professional credits as an actor and produced his first show at the Edinburgh Festival, with three more following in consecutive years. Two of which transferred to London, prompting him to up sticks from his beloved Northumberland and move to the big smoke.
Since moving, Jamie has played roles in several plays, wrote a best selling joke book, staged his first full play for a press run, produced five shows across London. He has recently just finished working as assistant theatre manager at the Courtyard Theatre, Hoxton programming their #NewYearNewWriting Season.
He left the Courtyard to setup Theatre N16. A space to help develop new writing and give free space and theatre makers.
His biggest influences are Simon Stephens, Matthew Vaughn, Paulo Coelho, David Tennant, his loving family, his devoted friends and his long term girlfriend Lorien.
For his sins he is a diehard Newcastle United fan.
