About

I'm a final year student of Scandinavian Studies and English Literature at the University of Edinburgh who aims to work in the creative industries once having graduated. I have always been an avid reader and writer, and have been approached to write articles for, for example, The Student (the University of Edinburgh's student newspaper) and Prancing Through Life (an online culture and comment website) and I am also involved in writing creatively. This has most recently manifested itself in short plays as I have recently completed a course in playwriting, and also in poetry, which I write both for page and for performance.

My involvement in the performance poetry scene has been extensive as I perform frequently across both Edinburgh in Glasgow with experience of performing in other cities such as St Andrew's, Birmingham, and Bergen in Norway. I was involved with the Edinburgh team for the 2013 competition Unislam, the UK's first inter-university poetry slam championship, which we were lucky enough to win. I also host and organise a bi-weekly open mic night in Edinburgh called Soap Box, and will potentially be involved with organising shows during the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
