Jasmin Kent Rodgman's projects aim to engage with and challenge today’s audiences and experiment with unique physical and audio set-ups. A multi-instrumentalist, she has recorded with bands such as The Mystery Jets and Vivien Glass for their upcoming 2016 album releases.
From London with a British-Malaysian heritage, her aesthetic lies in intermedia and cultural collaboration, continuously exploring modes of expression, location and interaction. This passion has fuelled her writing for the visual arts, theatre, film and contemporary concert platforms.
Her film scoring has brought her to work with independent filmmakers in the UK and internationally. She has recently finished work on two independent feature films set in London and the other in Tibet, whilst also working with low-budget projects and emerging talent supported by organisations such as Film London, BFI.Network, Screen Australia and the Arts Council England.
Jasmin’s concert music and theatre works have been performed across the UK at festivals such as Grimeborn Opera Festival, Secret Garden Party Festival and Cheltenham Music Festival.
Performers and ensembles that she has had the privilege of working with include the Manchester Camerata, Quatuor Danel, Berkeley Ensemble, Dr K Sextet, Trio Atem, Opera Viscera and ANIMA Collective. Her recent commission from violinist Alice Barron for solo violin and loop pedals was generously supported by Sound and Music.
