Sam is a performer, teacher and choreographer/director based in London.
Sam trained at the London Contemporary Dance School obtaining BA (2009) and MA (2015) degrees in performance & choreography. As a performer Sam has has worked with some of the leading dance and theatre companies including Jasmin Vardimon Company, Ultima Vez (Monkey Sandwich R&D), Clod Ensemble and spent 5 years as a senior member of Hofesh Shechter company. Other projects include working with Antony Gormley & Hofesh Shechter on the project 'survivor' (Barbican, 2012) and critically acclaimed opera Orpheus Et Eurydice (Royal Opera House, 2015) amongst others. He has also appeared in numerous music videos, advertisements and film shorts as an actor as well as a dancer. Including Curing Albrecht ; Collaboration between English National Ballet & Manchester International Festival and Uber's advert an Effortless Journey, directed by Kim Gehrig.
In 2015 Sam established his own company 'Dim Timbre' (Dark/Stupid voice) to explore the creation of open theatre, work that is indefinable by genre, collaborative by effort, challenging and entertaining in performance. The core belief is that creators and performers should not limit themselves by genre; This is not only cross-art approach to creation and performance but also as an approach to pedagogy. He has created works in the U.K, Canada and Spain that have been shown throughout europe.
