Alice Trueman is an award-winning playwright and screenwriter. She is a co-director of Broken Leg Theatre with whom she recently researched and developed a new play called 'Three Generations of Women' with funding from the Arts Council England. Since graduating with an MA in Scriptwriting from Goldsmiths University of London in 2010, Alice has been working as a writer, consultant and editor on projects for both screen and stage, and was selected by the BBC for one of their Continuing Drama trainee programmes.

Alice has had work produced in venues such as Greenwich Theatre; Theatre503; the Nightingale Theatre; the Marlborough Theatre; and CarriageWorks Theatre, and short films screened at BAFTA; Shortcutz London, and Cornwall Film Festival. She recently made her screen directing debut with a short film she wrote called Egg, starring Sally Phillips and Kiki Kendrick, with financial support from BAFTA-winner Alan Bennett. Egg is now being entered to festivals and has so far been selected for the Underwire Festival 2015 and nominated for their XX award. Alice is also a trained Script Editor who has worked for the BFI Film Fund and with numerous filmmakers to help them strengthen their own scripts.

Film credits include: The Aftermath (short - BAFTA, Cornwall Film Festival, the TriSpace Gallery and winner of ShortCutz London May 2011); The Real Thing (short - BAFTA and shortlisted for the Funny Women Comedy Writing Award 2012); When I Grew Up (short - Trinity Leeds); and The Quadrivium Project (feature treatment - Coincidence Productions).

Theatre credits include: Three Generations of Women (development readings at Greenwich Theatre; the Marlborough Theatre, and CarriageWorks Theatre); Hateful (439 Mile End Studio); The Ripple Effect (reading at The Globe - nominated for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize 2013); Happy Ever After (Theatre503); My Second Life (Greenwich Theatre and The Nightingale Theatre - winner of an Argus Angel Award), and Revenge Is Sweet (Workshop Theatre, Leeds).

Alice is also the lead singer and guitarist of the band CLUBBS.
