About
Christian’s focus as storyteller is social dramas and cutting edge interpretations of classical stories. He aims to produce work that inspires, questions and challenges.
He is currently in in pre-production for his next short film 'Daughter, a modern adaption of the Parable of the Lost Son. The film is a coming of age story about a British-Pakistani Muslim girl. The project had a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2017.
Most recently he was selected as the Film Creative for the 2018-2019 Emerging Creatives Programme with the Hospital Club London.
In the last two years Christian has directed and written the short films 'Slaved' (2016), 'Gone' (2016) & 'All’s Well' (2015). Most recently, 'Slaved,' won the Unchosen Short Film Competition (patrons- Ken Loach, Nick Broomfield). His other short 'All's Well' won best film at the Just Film Awards and Audience Choice Award at the Veterans Film Festival. It screened at the East End Festival in June 2016.
Alongside his film pursuits Christian is part of the Young Vic Directors Scheme.
Christian was formally trained in Acting at Drama Centre- Central St Martins. After graduating he acted in feature films, high profile music videos, award winning short films and classical theatre productions. He is currently represented by Curtis Brown.
He read English Literature and Fine Art at Newcastle University where his graduate art film was screened at the Northern Film Festival. Prior to University he gained an Associate Producer credit on the feature 'The Least Among You' (2009) starring Oscar winner Louis Gossett Jr.
