I am a 24 year old living in London trying to forge a career in the arts as a writer and actor. I grew up in the Peak District, in a secluded valley twenty minutes drive away form the nearest bus stop. I went to Durham University to study English Literature and here I discovered Beckett and Pinter and their heirs Jez Butterworth and Martin McDonagh. These playwrights galvanised in me a desire to write drama and showed me the voice I wanted to try and speak in. At university I wrote three plays, one of which, The Noctambulist, I took to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2014 (***** Broadway Baby, **** Ed Fringe Review).
Since university I have moved to London and am working on various theatrical projects as well as supporting myself financially by tutoring English. I have been working on a variety of short plays this year, Fat Jewels was performed at the Southwark Playhouse and Zoe and the Fox at The Arts Theatre in March 2016. My radio play The Druid's Horse is set to come out on Roundhouse Radio in spring 2016.
As an actor I have recently starred as Prospero in The Tempest, a Three Inch Fools production which toured the North of England and Scotland in summer 2015. I am very excited to be acting in an adaptation of The Conductor (by Sarah Quigley, adapted by Mark Wallington), touring at festivals over the summer.
