I am an Intermedia Artist who uses many forms of creative materials for project development.... Secondly 'I am a visual and performance artist…why performance art? Performance art as a medium initiates an environment ripe for collaboration, exploration and self-reflection. Performance art is usually visceral, bringing forth our innermost emotions and curiosities. In doing this I encompass elements of spoken word, humour, body movement, absurdity, ritual and visual stimuli…paired with an investigative process in order to create a crossover between theories and physical actions.
Concepts explored within my work range from themes regarding community, connections, collaboration, and communication, which are inspired by many facets including, but not limited to: nature, society, everyday-ness, psychology, ritual and how they create the fabric of societies and communities'.
As well as an interest in performance art, I create short absurd movies focusing on elements of human life and manage a few other projects on the side of that too. I am an avid sketcher and take immense enjoyment developing and creating characters who feature in my short independent films. I have some previous experience of working with the Imaginate Festival and as an actor/model for the ECA costume degree show 2017. Because I am involved in creating characters, I am usually the one who acts them out so I have some acting skills, weird ones but some.
I believe my skills can be of use to many areas due to my involvement in independent project management which requires resilience, time management, organization and work ethic. As well as this I am eager to build more skills, challenge myself and gain new experiences. Research is a great interest of mine and I want to develop this aspect of myself further in order to implement it into my art practice. I am a creative individual who loves to apply my creativity pragmatically.
I draw, paint (acrylic), render, sketch, edit video, photography (digital), and dance, perform live art, and create installation art, printmaking (lino), illustration and design costumes for my performances... I can be creatively spontaneous and creatively reserved depending on what is required. Being challenged excites me, because I freeking love learning new things and putting them into practice.
