About
I am fascinated by how the world on-screen forms a visual playground for the viewer, where strangeness can be explored, the world mimicked and subverted, and our collective stories told.
I have a wide set of transferable skills garnered through my experience as a Screenskills Art Department Trainee in set dec, stand by, art dept office, props, scenic & construction. My educational background in Painting and Printmaking (GSA, BA Hons), carpentry & construction (City of Glasgow College, NQ5), draughting (NFTS), and set design (SceneHouse) inform my expertise. My practical skills alongside my project coordination, design & research experience within the creative sector, demonstrate my professional versatility, and drive to learn.
I place value on strong, generous working relationships, where I can learn from the expertise of those around me and help to problem solve. My visual arts practice as a maker and facilitator has required me to be resourceful and meticulous. In these positions, I have been granted opportunities to work collaboratively within different communities, to realise creative projects, and to explore place-making.
Since 2019 my focus has been to direct my broad set of experiences in the creative field towards art department roles. Beyond my training with Screensills, NFTS, and Talking Points, I have honed computer-based skills in SketchUp, Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, and gathered a wealth of information from the online learning made available by the screen industries during the pandemic.
At this stage in my career, I am looking for opportunities to develop my skills as an art department assistant and runner.
