Matthew Nsubuga is a twenty three year old screenwriter and script reader from London, United Kingdom. His parents immigrated here from Uganda before he was born in St. Thomas Hospital on the 13th April 1992.
He achieved 10+ GCSE’s from St. Thomas the Apostle College and a 2:1 in English Language and Creative Writing from De Montfort University. Since then, he has been focusing on his career in film and television. After spending six years learning his craft, Matthew finally made his break through when a screenplay he co-wrote with his brother was optioned by filmmakers in Australia. With a budget of two million, the screenplay completed production in December 2013 and had it's première in October 2014.
Matthew also has an array of short films he has written which have been entered into competitions and exhibited for a wide audience. He also has experience as a script advisor for a film Production Company, where he performed script analysis as a volunteer. Matthew also volunteered during the summer of 2013 at a film school. He was able to help youngsters who were new to film with writing, creativity and production.
With that experience he went on to complete a work experience at Tiger Aspect in 2015, where he shadowed a script executive, sat in on script meetings and wrote loads of script reports.
Matthew is currently a script reader for Tiger Aspect and writing a feature length screenplay which he is looking to produce with his Director brother, Jimmy Nsubuga.
