About
David is a British director and filmmaker with experience in crafting narrative fiction and commercial video content.
His first short, ‘Resonance’ kick-started his love of fiction storytelling and his next, ‘Sold’, screened at a number of US and European film festivals. As director and editor, he has since produced numerous shorts including ‘Seesaw’, ‘The Celebration’, ‘Without’, and ‘The Lost Sands’, which was set on Mars, shot on a submarine and went on to become a finalist for the ‘Sci- Fi London 48hr Film Challenge 2015'.
He wrote, directed and edited his most recent short ‘The Dreamsy’, winner of the ‘Sci-Fi London 48hr Film Challenge 2018’ and winner of ‘That Film Life Festival, Cannes’. The film is since in the official selection of a number of international film festivals and continues to screen on the festival circuit. David is now developing the short into a sci-fi feature film project.
Throughout his career, David has developed robust skills in writing, producing, directing and editing. Recently he edited a feature documentary, ‘Rebel Of The Keys’, about the remarkable life of renowned pianist and composer Andre Tchaikowsky. It screened at International film festivals including Palm Springs American Documentary Festival, The Open City Documentary Festival and was in competition at The Warsaw Jewish Film Festival. The film sold worldwide including theatrical and television distribution.
Whilst developing and producing fiction and documentary projects, David creates and directs commercial content for high end brands. His most recent being a fiction drama on financial crime for HSBC, resulting in commissioning of a further six corporate films for them. Other brands include Sky, i-D Magazine, Deloitte, Pringle Of Scotland and ORF.
With a strong focus towards fiction and documentary, through his filmmaking, David seeks to explore, challenge and reflect the many subtleties, contradictions and complexities of the human condition.
