Originally from Co. Tipperary, Ireland James has been fascinated with dance and movement on screen and stage since he was young child.
James is now a freelance choreographer and movement director based in London that specialises in movement and dance for stage & screen drawing from his experience working on film, theatre commercial, short form fiction and music videos for the past four years.
His work has been featured on ITV, MTV, Universal Music, VICE, Promo News, Paper Mag, 405 and David Reviews amongst others.
His style of choreography is expressive and narratively driven with a versatile approach that lends itself to both filming and live performance. James’ diverse background has enabled a flexibility of style that allows him to tailor his work to client and director’s brief.
Initially trained at CSN Dance led by Alan Foley, he then received a full scholarship to attend Bird College of Dance, Music and Theatre Performance in London. He then went on to attain BA (1st class honours) in Professional Practice (Arts) from Middlesex University with a focus on the choreographic process.
