About
I'm Blá (pronounced blaw). I'm orignally from Ireland and am based in North London. My background is in interior design; with experience working in hospitality, office, education, retail and residential design. I have some transferable skills which could be useful within the art dept such as a solid design language, hand and computer drafting, organisational skills, budgeting and construction knowledge. I am also very used to working to testing deadlines.
Currently, I am trying to get as much experience as possible and have worked dailies as an art dept assistant on a number of large -scale commercials, as well as some short films and on-line content.
I was lucky to get a few weeks experience on the forthcoming BBC Drama 'Roadkill' where I assisted the buyer and carried out general runner tasks within the Set Dec team.
I am the art director for a new micro-TV morning show for the app Wakey! which involves designing and installing three sets in a location, once a week, to shoot the content for the following week.
I'm interested on getting as much experience working on a large scale TV production.
I have a dog called Ripley, named after Sci-fi heroine Ellen Ripley from Alien
