Caitlin is a a freelance theatre director/practitioner. She was born in Iowa but grew up in Yorkshire. She still has the corn fields in her.
Caitlin has been directing theatre for 6 years, beginning at the University of Warwick. Since then she's directed in London, Wales, New York and France. Caitlin is a recipient of the Buzz Goodbody Best Director Award and is one of the Old Vic 12. This summer she directed the multi-award-nominated show BRENDA by EV Crowe's with HighTide and the Yard Theatre. Last year Caitlin directed the Off-Broadway Premiere of Naomi Wallace's And I And Silence At Signature Theater, New York. Her recent productions include POLAR BEARS by Amy Rosenthall at West Yorkshire Playhouse, The Malcontent for Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Commonwealth at the Almeida Theatre and the critically acclaimed And I And Silence and Facts, both at the Finborough Theatre.
Caitlin was Resident Trainee Director at the Royal Court Theatre in 2011 and over the past years has been the Assistant to the Director at the Shakespeare Globe Theatre, The Royal Court and the National Theater (Strange Interlude, Hamlet, The Talented Mr Ripley, Haunted Child, In Basildon, Love and Information). She has directed staged readings with the Royal Court, the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Public Theatre, New York. Most recently these readings included Love, Love, Love by Mike Bartlett at the Theatre Rond-Point in Paris, a series of plays by Palestinian writers as part of the Arab Culture Festival in London and The Red Set for the 40th Anniversary of the Chilean coup at the Royal Court Theatre.
Caitlin has worked extensively with new and established writers on contemporary plays including Caryl Churchill, David Eldridge, Laurie Nunn and EV Crowe.
