Morna is an playwright, actress and musician from a wee fishing village in the North East of Scotland. She is the recipient of the Dr Gavin Wallace Fellowship 2017 (hosted by Creative Learning, Aberdeen City Council) and the New Playwright's Award 2014 (Playwrights' Studio, Scotland). 

Morna trained in BA Journalism (University of Sheffield) and in MA Acting (The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama). Morna’s first full-length play, LOST AT SEA, is in pre-production with Eden Court, Inverness for 2019 following a sold out rehearsed reading in Lossiemouth in 2013 (co-produced by the award winning Stellar Quines, Out of the Darkness Theatre Company and Moray Council) and a secondary reading as part of The Finborough’s Vibrant Festival 2015 in London.  Other plays include: SHE OF THE SEA (Paines Plough / Lemon Tree 'Come to Where I'm From', 2017), NETTING ('a Play, a Pie and a Pint' in 2015 and national tour with Woodend Barn, 2016), NEVER LAND (Eden Court national tour, 2014), B-ROADS (Play Pieces festival, 2013) and two short theatre plays for the GREAT YES, NO, DON'T KNOW SHOW (National Theatre of Scotland). She has performed extracts of her work at the Scottish Parliament, European Authors’ Festival (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland), National Poetry Festival (France) and the Edinburgh International Book Festival. 

Theatre in development includes: HEROINES (2017 Stellar Quines), FOLK (2017 Tron Theatre), PROJECTIONS (2017 National Theatre of Scotland and ARC Stockton), THE EDGE (2017 Magnetic North), TIME AND TIDE (2016 Out of the Darkness Theatre Company) and HELLISH NELL (2016 Lyth Arts Centre residency). 

As an actor, she has worked for companies including the National Theatre of Scotland, Royal Lyceum, a Play, a Pie and a Pint, The Beacon, ITV and BBC Worldwide. Morna is also an Associate Artist of Out of the Darkness Theatre Company and tidy carnage. 

A multi-instrumentalist, composer and singer/songwriter, she has performed with Kevin McKidd’s band THE SPEYSIDE SESSIONS, THE FISHWIVES (TV appearances include The One Show and BBC Breakfast) and composed for several theatre shows (including SUNSET SONG for Beacon Arts Centre). She is one half of the band FOLKIFY who were in residence at The Tron, Glasgow in 2016. She is also an experienced director and has over ten years of outreach, education and facilitation work throughout the UK and internationally (including Sri Lanka, U.S.A and Italy).

Morna primarily writes in Doric and is a proud Scots Language Ambassador. She is currently based between Glasgow and Moray.
